Ortal Balanced Flue Fires These high efficiency gas fires [75% to 85%] are glass fronted, fully room sealed, and operate on a balanced flue chimney system. A balanced flue fireplace must be glass fronted to make the fireplace completely sealed from the room into which it is installed. Using a special design of flue pipe, air is drawn in from the outside for combustion purposes increasing its efficiency through an outer pipe whilst the inner pipe vents the combustion gases safely away to the outside of the property. Our balanced flue gas fires are supplied as freestanding and need to be "built around". To increase the efficiency of the appliance the installation requires vents in to the fireplace void which allows air to be drawn in from the room at floor level and vented back out in to the room at the ceiling. The fires are manufactured by Ortal and are imported.

• TECHNICAL:
  • There are many flue options available depending on chosen model. Please speak to a sales consultant.
  • Balanced flue gas fires have a sealed glass front and do not need external room ventilation and they have an efficiency rating of between 70 and 85%.
  • Before deciding what style of appliance you need please call a sales consultant to discuss your technical and visual requirements and we will advise the most cost effective solution.
• FLUE SYSTEM:
  • Our balanced flue gas fireplaces are designed to be used with a POUJOLAT or METALOTHERM flue system only.
